Peter Valentino Productions: Coopers World
I developed a website for Peter Valentino's website for his film titled "Coopers World" and created prototypes to help achieve a friendly user experience for potential film festival scouts. You may view the published Coopers World website here.
Persona Research
Understanding Peter
This had been my first time creating a persona for a client, although I had created personas in my courses. I had Peter give me a rundown of what exactly he wanted from the creation of the site. Due to different timezones, I decided to send a series of questions to him to answer. The first set of questions I sent, I discovered a number of my questions to help develop the persona were not direct and were not providing the insight I needed. I decided to revise the set of questions based on what I felt his answers were missing that I needed as a designer. Second round was successful and I found he wasn't website savvy and really needed a digital marketing tool for his short film. I turned his answers into visual and created the persona to guide my designs.
His idea was to have a simple site that not only his users could navigate, but that he could also edit after I completed the creation of his website.

Wireframes & Prototypes
Next was creating a basic wireframe of what the site would look like. I am no stranger to the internet and its many sites, but I felt to really get an understanding of what Peter was looking for.
I gathered a couple websites whose user design reflected the goals he had for his film's website. I found that providing generic sites wasn't allowing me to understand the market that is film websites.
I spent some time now looking up short film websites and to my surprise, out of 5 films that I looked into only 1 had a website. Most films were linked to the creators portfolios. This provided an array of ideas. After my findings I created a paper wireframe that I fit Peters and the common users criteria.
Once Peter approved, I developed the digital wireframe using FIGMA to test out before creating the site through WIX ADI editor. You can view the wireframes history and set up here.

Test & Final Designs
I shared with Peter what the basic layout would be like and he approved. I then decided to create the wix site using my digital wireframe and take it page by page. I had worked with wix ADI editor before, hence it wasn't difficult to start. I did run into difficulties when it came to creating a basic layout of the pages on the wix site. I researched and played around with the editor until I created a basic outline that looked right.
